Resilience, grit, determination and an innate sense of responsibility has translated into a stupendous victory for the Anti Corruption / Graft movement led by Mr. Anna Hazare. But we must develop this sense of responsibility and let this grand old man who has always taken up cudgels in the past finally realize that the spark that he and the likes of him have been kindling has finally caught fire, and now we would not accept the circumstances in futile resignation, but be ready to stand up and fight.

Habits – Overcoming the “Nasty” ones.

Humans or for that matter all living creatures are subservient to habits. They can be classified into Good, Bad, and the Ugly. Overcoming or breaking out of these habits are often a challenge. Its like the Good & Bad Cholestrol !!

After, quite a few failed attempts I can safely say that I personally have managed to overcome the nasty habit of “SMOKING”. And surprisingly now that I dont smoke cigarettes, I am beginning to understand what the non-cigarette smoking public has to endure. It actually is not a very pleasant experience. I now know why my driver used to be upset whenever i used to light up a stick in the car.

Somehow, I feel I owe all these people in silently instigating me to quit. Now that i have managed to quit, I want it to be known all around so as to prevent any re-lapse during the weaker moments.

The Entrepreneur

The other day I received one of those inspirational messages, on how to learn to let go of the branches and soar into the sky. In the same vein, I had met one of my old Army buddy, who had an idea and also seemed reasonably confident of his idea. I suggested that we should try to realize this plan and create a Company where both of us can be investors. The entire enthusiasm died down in an instance and was replaced by excuses.

I have had similar experiences with prospective “ENTREPRENEURS” who despite nursing ambitions, did not actually want to actually let go of the branch. Entrepreneurs with Risk Insurance. Yes a majority of us given an opportunity would like to get “free” and soar into the open skies, but do not want to take any risk. It simply is impossible to have a completely win-win situation.

Over the past 12 years, since i started my business, I have encountered many such cases. Some who had dithered at that point (when the risk was all mine), would not mind taking a comfortable risk as on date.
